Tree removal in Trinity Beach
Tree removal and pruning in Trinity Beach, from the foreshore to the slopes of Earl Hill.
Tree work in Trinity Beach
Shallow soil under a forested hill
Earl Hill, the range behind Trinity Beach, has shallow red earth soil throughout on rock. Trees on shallow soil root wide rather than deep, which matters in a cyclone and again when a stump is ground out.
Earl Hill Conservation Park is a 55 hectare forested range surrounded by houses, with open woodland and patches of rainforest. The homes on its lower slopes have that forest at the back fence.
Its walking track climbs through cycad palm groves to the Trinity Beach lookout, and access into the park is by foot only.

Trinity Beach questions
Sand, dunes and storms
Has the beach been rebuilt after storms?
More than once. In December 2010 council did sand nourishment work to help restore Trinity Beach, and after ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper it approved sand nourishment at Trinity Beach again to rebuild the dunes.
Why does shallow soil matter for a big tree?
Because the roots spread sideways near the surface. A tall tree on shallow soil has less holding it down in a cyclone than its size suggests.
Can trees inside the conservation park be cut back?
No. The park is public land. Only trees on your own block are quoted privately.
